Legislation for Homeless Children:

The 2012 Minnesota State Legislature established the Visible Child Work Group (VCWG) to identify and recommend issues to be addressed in a statewide plan to improve the well-being of children who are homeless or have experienced homelessness.  The VCWG final report provides a solid foundation for our state to develop a comprehensive plan to improve the well-being of homeless and formerly homeless children. Click here

About Us
History of theThe Family Supportive Housing Center, LLC (2006-2011)

The Provider Group sought the help of the Family Housing Fund to address serious reductions in service funding by initiating a collaborative service sharing approach. The Fund formed a subsidiary called the Family Supportive Housing Center, LLC (the Center). The Center was created in May, 2006 to serve the member agencies of the Supportive Housing Provider Group through the exploration of needs and the provision of collaborative services. The Center has sponsored a number of collaborative programs since its inception through a community-based research and implementation model responsive to the “4 Ds”:

  • Discovery - explore the needs of supportive housing providers and homeless families through research and provider analysis and confirmation.
  • Demonstration - demonstrate collaborative strategies through direct services to families and provider group staff members.
  • Documentation - document the results of the research and service strategies
  • Dissemination - disseminate the lessons learned through training opportunities, written materials, and web-based tools.
